»A Day in the Life: October 31, 2014«

Happy Halloween! I hope everyone's day is going as planned. Today was the day that I promised that I would show you what a day in my life looked like. Let me preface this by saying that today hasn't been a normal day for me. So far, I've only done a Day in my Life posts when I'm traveling. But I'll do a normal day once I have a job maybe? My normal days are really, really boring. Anyway, let's get the show on the road!

6:51 am. I normally never get up this early. It's a sin to get up this early. My alarm actually went off about 6:45, but Robert was in the shower and I layed in bed a little bit longer.

Shower time!
Clean teeth are an absolute necessity to feel like an acutal human being in the morning.
And we are on the road with the first time check of the day! In this picture, we are actually turning onto the road I grew up on. It just happens to be really close to wear we live currently.
Now for the fun part, the true start to the 279 journey to Hot Springs, NC. I honestly don't know why Robert picked this particular area of North Carolina, but writing this up now that I'm here, I see the appeal. It's a really rustic and beautiful part of North Carolina.

Time check! The only thing that's remotely cool about this picture is that I made my background for my phone. And really, that's not saying much.

Another picture from the interstate, with a familiar yet rarely seen face, the Piggly Wiggly Pig. Piggly Wiggly used to be really big in my home town, but a bunch of them are closing. The only one's open anymore are the privately owned ones.

A small bit of a time jump here. Between this picture and the last, Robert and I stopped to get breakfast at Chick-fil-A, where I felt really too awkward to take pictures of my breakfast. Plus I fell asleep. I always fall asleep in the car. I don't know what it is, but with out fail, I will fall asleep in a moving vehicle. This picture also shows when we crossed over into North Carolina. So based on the time, that's actually not a bad time from getting from the coast of Carolina into the Blue Rigde Region of the state.
This is just after rolling into North Carolina. Robert, who's never been to the mountains in the Southeast, was like what is that? I just had to laugh at him a bit. The first glimps of the mountains for the trip. The next couple of pictures are a bit of spam of the mountain ridge.
Now there is a bunch of time that was skipped between the last two pictures. After the mountain road pics were taken, we stopped by a quaint little grocery store called Ingal's Grocery. We picked up some things to snack on at the house. After driving on the most curvy road I've been on in my life, and missing the drive to the cabin, we finally arrived. The house/cabin that we are staying at has a pretty steep driveway. Poor Robert about had a panic attack because he didn't think that the car would make it up the hill with just two wheel drive. The owners of the home were up at the house cleaning and we kind of sat in the drive until they came down. Now they were driving a really old Buick, so I knew that the Ford would be able to make it up there. I told Robert to just gun it, and we made it up there! We sat around the house for a bit and checked it out before we ventured out for dinner. We went to the Iron Horse Inn and Resturant that's in Hot Springs proper, and had a wonderful dinner. Again I got caught up in the awkwardness of blogging about food, so no pictures of that. This is actually after dinner. Here's a quick tour of the house.
From the front hallway right as you walk in the door. The first door on the right is the bedroom in the previous pic.
And here's out of the front door. That hill just dips right on down there.
The living room/kitchen area. This little house has a beauiful view of the ridge which I'll get to in a minute.
The kitchen area. They also have this giant ass telescope. If I can figure out how to set it up and I'm not freezing, I want to check out all sorts of stars. But the weather! It's supposed to potentually snow up to a foot! It's a little hilarious that there's a sled in one of the closets in the room. Here's those views I was talking about.
And here it is, the last photo of the day, brushing the teeth again. Today's been a bit tiring, and I've been editing the photos since about 8:30ish, and it's 11 now. So I'm going to pass out now.
Tomorrow starts NaBloPoMo, and I hope to do better than I did with my week of posts. If you have any blog posts ideas, or anything you want me to answer or talk about, let me know because I need some serious inspiration.

»fifty-two week 44«

Happy Thursday everyone. Last week I have to say I had a bit of success with my "blog every day" thing. With the exception of Saturday, which I spent a majority of my time to Extra Life, it was a success. Tomorrow I'm going to be doing a Day in my life, so look forward to that.

Week 44: If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? Why?

Other than a few cosmetic changes like losing some weight, the only thing I would change would be my ability to procrastinate! I leave everything off to the last minute. Thinking back, I've done it all the time especially for things I'm not excited for. School, work, sometimes even blogging. And looking up things about procrastination, some say the best way to overcome procrastination is to reward yourself. My problem is that I tend to reward myself before I do the task at hand. Case in point, I've been watching Sleepy Hollow since about 3pm. I've been trying to write this post since 3. But anyway. If you are ever feel like procrastinating, just pick a reward and remember,

»friday night lights«

Here's a late night post in case anyone can't sleep tonight. I hope everyone had a wonderful Friday. Today was a very interesting day. It started off with a text message from my Dad asking me to drive him out to the woods today. My Dad works as a logger/log truck driver for a local company. He was working from the office today because he also works on the big trucks. My Dad needed a lift out to the woods because he had left his pick up there when he drove one of the logging trucks back to the office earlier that morning. So I picked up my dad. Out in the woods, where the logging company is currently clearing, there were these round little metal balls everywhere! I've never seen anything like it. I think they were musket balls judging on the size, and since there wern't any markings or holes like a fishing weight would have. They were the neatest little things.

The rest of the day was spent with my sister-in-law, Brittany, who is home for fall break. That girl sure knows how to party. We watched Halloweentown. I can't believe how old that movie is. In some parts of the movie, it really stands up to time, but then other parts it's all sorts of awkward. We then went to dinner (with Robert too!) to the best little Mexican food place there is in Summerville, I think.

I don't have much more to blog about for today with the exception of the last pick up Fifty two post. I'm really excited for tomorrow. Rooster Teeth is having their annual 24 hour charity stream to raise money for the Extra Life program, but I'm going to write more on that tomorrow. Here's the fifty-two post!

Week 43: If asked what your 3 best qualities where, what would others say?

Oh, this is a good question! Well, I hope that I would be known as kind and generous. There was a woman who helped shaped me who I was, that always said "Kill them with Kindness." I want to be kind to everyone that I can be, and even if I have to use the great southern curse of "Bless their heart."

I'd also like to think that people would see me as steadfast. The definition of steadfast is resolutely or dutifully firm and unwavering. Being firm in my own personal thoughts and beliefs but also being firm in my stance with other people and my loyality to them. I also think that it's pretty cool that my name means to be vigilant.

Finally, I'd like to be known for my open-mindfulness and tolerance. Equality for everyone is very very important to me. I like to see a person for who they are. I personally believe from the bottom of my heart, that any person, no matter their race, religion, gender, sexuality, history or what ever other label that you can put on a person, that as long as they are not hurting or harming themselves, my self, or others and are genuinely a good person, I have no problem with them. I basically abide by the "Don't be a Dick" rule.

Going back and reading this, no wonder I got sorted into Hufflepuff. I'm like the world's biggest Hufflepuff.

What are some happy moments from your day today? What do you think your 3 best qualities would be?

» Thursday Night Ramblings«

Happy Thursday everyone! Today had been an absolute lazy day for me. I feel like I've done nothing but eat and read today. And try and shop for a good oyster knife. Sorry, it's a Thankgiving thing. Let me explain.

For years now, every Wednesday night, or Thanksgiving Eve as my family likes to call it, have an oyster roast. My uncle normally supplies us with about 5-6 bussels of oysters, either ones he's bought locally, or one's that he's caught him self. As such, every one brings oyster knives. Growing up, we've had the standard wood handle type, and over the years, people have carved names or initals into them. Every once in a while, a new knife will be introduced, and everyone will be fighting over it, thinking its the best. One year, my cousin Stan brought some really good knives, and one of them made it's way home with my Dad. My Dad then proceded to paint the handle pink, put stickers of flowers on it, and carved Stan's name into the handle. So there is always this joke on the family facebook page to make sure you bring your desginated oyster knife, and to return any that may have spent the year with another family member.

So this brings me to why I was shopping for one. I don't have a proper oyster knife. I'm sure I could go out and get one easy that day, but I wouldn't have time to decorate it and make it my own. So while I was looking up things to do for the North Carolina trip, I googled custom oyster knifes. And I happened to come across a website that offered custom engraving in the blade of the knife. I knew right then and there I would have to get me one. So after the trip, that's one more thing that I'm going to be springing money for, but it will pay off and have years of use.

Late Week 42: What are 3 things that you are thankful for today?

I'm thankful for my family. Each member of my family has lifted my spirits in some sort of way. Some do it on a daily basis, like Robert and his family who we currently live with. Others do it in a less frequent manor, like my cousins who I visit with at Thanksgiving. But my family get me through the times when I'm feeling down.

I'm also thankful for Lisa and Bill. If it wasn't for their generosity of taking Robert and I back in I don't know what would have happened. I have an inordinate amount of words of gratitude that I could thank them with.

Lastly I'm thankful for my internet connection. Honestly, I'd be lost with out it.

What are some of your family traditons? Or what are you thankful for?

»you've reached the writer's block portion of the week«

Hopefully I'll have this post done in like 20 minutes because I need to catch the encore presentation of AHS. Anyway, Welcome to the last hour and 20 minutes of Wednesday. How's everyone been doing? I've been having a time trying to think of things to blog about today. Sometimes I hate that I put so much presure on myself to do something, but then I think of that Ben Folds Five song, Do It Anyway. And I have to do it anyway. Writer's block is always so hard for me to overcome, because I have this perfectionist thing about my blog posts, and some times I just have to pull an Elsa and just Let It Go, because it might not be perfect, and it might not be awe inspiring, but I did it, and that's what matters.

What about, how do you over come writer's block?

Week 41: Is there anything/anyone that you would willingly give your life for?
I hate questions like these because it makes me think of horrible situations, and no win scenarios, and those are never fun. I think that if I had to give my life for anything it would be Robert. Like if a serial killer had to make me choose between who lives and who dies between Robert and I, I would willingly sacrafice myself, but I honestly don't want to dwell on it anymore than that.

»Yo Dawg! I heard you like blogging about blogging!«

Apparently I'm blogging about blogging so far this week. Today I wanted to share with y'all what tools I use to blog, both at home and while away. I know most of y'all are like, "Kasey, all you need is a computer to blog from home." And yes, y'all are right, that's really all you need, but sometimes I need to have places other than my computer to write down what I want for a blog. So let's get started.

Here are the two things that stay home. On top is my wonderful journal that I got from Felecia in the Journal Swap that I blogged about earlier here, as well as my blog calendar. My blog calendar is filled with sticky notes where I try to outline and pre-plan my posts. It doesn't really happen all to often, and this is the second year that I've tried with this method. Since I barely ever get this thing out, I think I'm going to be rethinking my planning strategy. Next year, I'm going to be getting a daily planner, so I'm thinking some sort of personal hard copy journal along with outlines pre-planned in the dates. As far as the journal goes, I have a copy of the rest of this years Fifty-Two questions, as well as next year's, and the rest of the space goes to post outlines or fully written out posts.

Here are the three most important digital blog-to-go necessities. Below is the iPad mini with the Logitech Bluetooth Keyboard case. These have been wonderful, and when blogging on the go, I use the Blogsy app, even though there have been layout issues with it in the past. I touch on it a bit on my post from yesterday, but I also use the app iDraw both on computer and on iPad for my post graphics. Of course, when on the move I use my iPhone 6 for all of my social media needs. Buffer comes in handy for that! Finally the little cord piece of equipment is my new Lightning to SD card cable for importing my photos from my camera to my iPad for editing and posting.

When blogging on the go, even though having my iPhone handy, I like jotting my thoughts down in a little note book. In this notebook is another copy of the 52 posts for the year, followed by room for extra writing. I'm setting another little journal like this for next year, but the layout I'm using is a little different. As far as my pens, I always feel the most inspired when I write with a fountain pen. This is my Sailor Clear Candy fountain pen. While its a tad bit scratchy on my little Moleskine's paper, the nib is just the right size for jotting down thoughts. I also use the Papermate Inkjoy Quatro when I want to color code my thoughts. I used to carry around this God awful pencil case because I was carrying too much stuff. I'm so glad I condensed. Sometimes I carry a pencil as well, but sometimes I forget it.

So thats a look into all the things I use for blogging. I do think I'm a bit obsessed with stationery and office supplies.  Are y'all as obsessed with silly stuff like this as I am?

Really Late Fifty-Two post for week 40: What is the best way to spend an afternoon out? Best way to spend it in?

My favorite way to spend an afternoon out is in a car to be honest. My favorite thing to do is traveling somewhere with Robert. I mean I love going shopping, but the conversations that Robert and I have while in the car driving are some of my favorite things in the world. Sometimes I try to mimic how the GPS says certain streets or town names, and we just crack up laughing. We could go somewhere and get lost and it would still be a fun time. And if there is a bit of shopping sprinkled in there is pretty awesome too.

My favorite way to spend an afternoon in, is probably chilling out with Robert again, either watching a movie, or if want some alone time, I love spending an afternoon playing video games. Snacking on trail mix or popcorn while playing video games or a movie is always the best way to spend an afternoon.

What are your favorite ways to spend an afternoon?

»midnight musings«

Oh man, was this blog post being out on time a failure. I had been intending to write something all day but I kept getting distracted by all sorts of nonsense. Like trying to paint my nails, or watching a podcast, or even trying to figure out how to make header images from my iPad. I've got the program that I use on mobile, but it's the exporting as a png for uploading into Blogsy that has me currently stumped and right at midnight. I feel sorry for Robert, trying to sleep as I keep tapping away at this bluetooth keyboard. As I'm sitting here typing this, I feel like I'm about to fall asleep. But I have a million thoughts that flow through my head, like the fact that I absolutely need to get my bangs trimmed and shaped up again. Or the fact that I've just now noticed that I have a pimple at my brow line that is about the size of one of my capture balls for my earrings. Or how about the fact that I'm setting my alarm for tomorrow to get me up on time, so I don't squander my day away and actually blog in a timely manor. I think it's just time for sleep.

Anyway, I said I'd play fifty-two pickup, so here it goes.

Missed Week 39: What are you looking foward to?

SInce South Carolina weather has actually decided to give us a proper fall, the things I'm looking foward to the most right now is Robert and I's mountain weekend getaway next weekend. We'll be spending some quality couple time up in Hot Springs, North Carolina in a little cabin in the mountains. I have cute outfits planned, and I'm going to force Robert to be my photographer, because real talk, I need a picture for my about me page, and I also need a new side bar photo.

I'm also looking foward to Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, and I could go on forever about my family and our tradions, but that is honsetly like a weeks worth of posts in November lol.

So, Question Time: What are y'all looking foward to? And what keeps you up at night?

»the start of something new«

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope y'alls are going better than mine. Today I woke up pretty late with a killer headache that won't go away! I've been guzzling water down all day, and I've taken some meds, but I don't think this headache is going to go away until I go back to sleep. And I think I'm going to do that directly after the Walking Dead tonight. I also just wanted to give some heads up about the next week, and what's going on for me next November.

November is normally NaBloPoMo, which is "National" Blog Post Month. It's not really a National month thing, its just a bloggers take on NaNoWriMo or National Novel Writing Month. Bloggers don't have to worry about word counts or anything like that, just needing to post a blog every day for the month of November. I've completed NaBloPoMo a few years back, and it was very cathartic for me that year. I lost my grandmother that month and I wrote about it. I deleted those posts after trying to do a blog revitalization back on livejournal, and I miss those posts. But during that month I also did "A Day in the Life" post when Rob and I were traveling to Thanksgiving that year.

This year, I'm going to do it again! I'm going to participate in NaBloPoMo, and to try and get me in the "mood" for it, I'm going to post everyday this week! So here's the first post. I don't have much for topics, with the exception of playing Fifty-Two PickUp again during the weekdays. I'm also going to try and do another "A Day in the Life" Post this Halloween, because Rob and I will be traveling to a little cabin for a 3 day weekend, and I need to get my "Blog ToGo" plans and kinks worked out before the Thanksgiving ADITL post. So please look forward to that.

Before I go and get ready for the Walking Dead, are you participating in NaBloPoMo? Or are there any particular topics you want me to cover during this week or the month of November? Let me know! Leave me a comment, or tweet me @KaseyBreahut with suggestions!

»Currently 10.2«

Doesn't the saying go: "A day late and a dollar short"? Well, that's me, late and unprepared. My laziness got the best of me again and I didn't have any posts lined up or anything. Next week I'll be playing fifty two pick-up and my currently post gets moved to today. I feel really bad because next month I'm going to try my hand at blogging every day, including a "Day in My Life" post. Hopefully I'll be doing my testing for that Halloween weekend though. Anyway, here's whats been up with my life currently.

»Excited About: Movie news! I really want to go see The Book of Life this weekend. And all the news surrounding Captain America 3 and the potential Civil War plot! The Marvel Universe Civil War has been one of my favorite story lines that I've read in a while. A movie that I have a vested interest, Lazer Team, also started production this week. I'm so excited for that movie to come out. I'm also super excited about a package that I'm supposed to be getting today.

»Worried About: My headaches. I've been getting them again lately. I don't know if its because I started drinking more soda and coffee, but my caffeine levels are all out of whack and I've been having caffeine headaches because of that. ☹

»Reading: I haven't been reading all too much lately, with the exception of some fanfictions and my blogroll. I really want to read a scary book, so if you have any scary book recommendations, please let me know!

»Creating: I've been doodling a bunch this past week. While I watch youtube videos or netflix, I tend to doodle, here are some of my favorite doodles from this week.

»Loving: My new pens from! I'm a huge office supply nerd, and I found a new fountain pen to love. I recently bought the Sailor Clear Candy Pen and I honestly love it. It's a lot better than the Pilot Varsity Disposable Fountain Pen that I've been using! And I've fallen in love with Multi-pens all over again.

»Hating: I'm having a hard time finding a nice leather braided belt that I can wear around my hip and my waist. Someone point me in the right direction of where I can find one! Also some cute fair isle printed leggings! Those two things are my next wardrobe conquests!

»Wondering: "D'you ever wonder why we're here? It's one of life's great mysteries, isn't it? Why are we here? I mean, are we the product of some... cosmic coincidence? Or is there really a God, watching everything, you know, with a plan for us and stuff? I don't know man, but it keeps me up at night." Ps. If you know where this quote is from, please don't be shy and introduce yourself.

»Craving: I haven't really been craving anything lately to be honest, with the exception of maybe some good hot chocolate or a good White Chocolate Mocha with extra whipped cream.

»Listening to: Apparently, I cannot get Centuries by FOB out of my head. It still dominates my most played list with 214 plays. Boom Clap by Charli XCX is still number two but with 162 plays. Vegas Lights by Panic! at the Disco has moved up with 68 plays. I've really been digging Pumped Up Kicks by Foster The People, who have 47 plays. T-Swift's Shake It Off is still popular with 41 plays, and FOB's Young Volcanos is hanging in there with 39 plays. Meghan Trainor's All About That Bass is in rotation as well with 37 plays.

»Netflixing: Some season 5 of Criminal Minds, and I found a British Lifetime show called Frisky Business that is hilarious, its all about a British-run sex toy company. I wish there were more episodes that I could watch.

»Playing: Super Smash Bros. for the 3DS. I've been addicted to playing this game lately. If you have a 3DS and like playing Super Smash Bros., Animal Crossing: New Leaf, or Mario Kart 7, I'd love to play with you! My Friend Code is: 2895-7743-1106, just drop me a little comment if you add me to your friends list so I can add you back!

So yeah, that's what life has been like lately! Just to reiterate, What is a spooky story that you've read lately?

Happy October! It's Halloween Month, and the start of my favorite part of the year! The Last three months of the year are always jammed packed with so much goodness and happiness that I just can't contain it. All the best food, smells, and fashion are during this time of the year. Here's what's going through my head lately.

Excited About: I gushed about it a bit above, but Fall is my favorite time of the year. The Fall outfits, drinks, foods and television. There is just so much to be excited for. I was able to wear my new pair of boots on an outing lately and I'm in love! Fall is the best time of year for outfit fashion shoots, which I need to do for something special!

Worried About: My amazing little brother-in-law, Kevin, is only 10 days in to basic training for the US Army. I'm so incredibly proud of him. We haven't heard much from him since the first couple of days are hectic for them but I know he's fine, but I can't help missing having him about the house.

Reading: I've been reading Blog Inc. I've seen this book being talked about in the blogosphere and I wanted to check it out. I want to make this little corner of the internet the best it can possibly be and I hope reading a bit of this book will help with that.

Creating: Not much to be honest. I've been spending so much time either playing video games, or just being outside enjoying the weather. I've also been in a bit of a rut about what to create, ie lack of journal posts haha, but I've recently bought a pack of calligraphy pens that I can play with. Maybe I'll get proficient with calligraphy again.

Loving: The fall weather. Fall this year has been overcast with off and on drizzles, which has been keeping us cool. The in-laws have turned off the air-conditioning and opened up all the windows in the hopes of keeping the house cool. They hope that we won't have to turn it back on for the rest of the year...

Hating: The fall weather! To be honest, the off and on drizzles have been more on than anything the past couple of days, and I ready for it to dry up at least so I can go outside and spend time in nature.

Wondering: How to get my husband to play video games with me. While we hardly argue, we get really competitive when it comes to playing games, that it can lead to some tension, but I desperately need someone to play the local co-op levels of Battleblock Theater with me!

Craving: I've been craving some fried mushrooms, and some of my signature Criminal Minds Trail Mix. Luckily for me, Criminal Minds comes back on tonight, so I'll be making some trail mix so Mom and I can watch the premier together. I'm hoping to do a post about it on Friday. But unluckily for me, there aren't any restaurants in my area that serve decent fried mushrooms. So my options are to either get over my apprehensions of the Fry Daddy and fry up the mushrooms myself, or wait until the fair. Which I have never been successful in getting Rob to go to. I think I'll have better luck with the frier.

Listening To: Right now my top 5 songs in my iTunes playlist are Centuries by Fall Out Boy with an impressive 118 plays. Next is Boom Clap by Charli XCX with 44 plays. Coming in number 3 on the list is Shake It Off by Taylor Swift with 35 plays. Following that is My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark by Fall Out Boy with 25 plays. Finally is Vegas Lights by Panic! At The Disco with 21 plays. Man, my music tastes are pretty varied I think.

Netflixing: I had to catch up on Sons of Anarchy for the final season. I'm mostly caught up now, having just watched the season premiere Sunday night.

Playing: Grand Theft Auto and Battleblock Theater! I've been playing so much XBox live lately that I've taken over Rob's gamertag. I'm trying to boost my GTA character so I can get an apartment in game, but I'm horrible and I don't have anyone to play with. My gamertag is now RobKasBreh if you'd like to add me to your friends list. My goals is to take Rob's measly 3000-ish gamer score and boost that to high numbers. I'll be trolling the Achievement Hunter website for help with that!

So that's what my life has been like currently. What's up with you guys? Any special plans for the month of Halloween, I mean, October? Let me know!
